I have 3 roos looking for good homes/flocks of their own. If you are interested or would like to come check them out, please PM me and we can work out the details. The BCM is just about 6 months, the red mix is over 1 year, and the Icelandic is about 4 months but crowing!
I love my roos but there are too many to keep and I need to rehome a few. One is a BCM roo, about 5 months old. He is beautiful but I can not keep him. Free to a good home. He is in Harwinton ct
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me find a few birds in CT to add to my flock. The breeds I am interested in are delawares, barred rock, wyandotte, plymouth partridge rock, icelandic, and marans. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please no roo's as I am looking to fix my roo/hen ratio...
Does anyone know of where I could find some Icelandics in Connecticut? I am looking to add about 15 birds total to my existing flock and then start breeding icelandics next spring. I only have 2 so far and no need for a rooster yet. Any help or info will be greatly appreciated. I will be...
I am looking for hens to add to my flock. I already have 5 roosters, so please no more of them. I would like to add about 15 more hens to help my roo/hen ratio out. The breeds I am looking for are: Delawares, Icelandics, Partridge Plymouth Rocks, or Barred Rocks. Any info/help/offers are greatly...
They also have quirky personalities from what I am observing. We were very lucky to come across a couple through a chicken rescue group. If you ever come across any I would scoop them up! Of course you can order some, too. I am planning on ordering some from Buck n Run ranch in the future.
Good morning CT :) Today I am wondering if anyone knows where I could find any delawares or icelandics in Ct.? We just adopted a single icelandic and I would rather have some other newbies to take some stress off her from the initial integration. We also have far too few hens for the # of roos...
I love the lightest one in the first pic but hey are all beautiful. Is the black one in the second to last pic more of a smokey black? Looks very unique.
I got very lucky and found her through a chicken rescue group. She is a very fun bird, full of spunk and fearless. I can't wait for my next day off to begin supervised free ranging with her and reunite her with her sister.
Ps. She says thank you :)
I have one black copper marans roo, 3 partridge plymouth rock cockerels and one rir cockerel all looking for homes if anyone needs one. Please let me know :)
Sweet! I always end up back here. I have learned to love it and now I dont even plan on leaving. At least for a while :) My chickens love it here too, all 22 free ranging acres!
1) Do you prefer price over quality or quality over price? In general would you buy more birds from a free range mom&pop shop than a major hatchery?
I prefer quality over price, not to mention "hatchery" doesnt even sound natural, sort of like factory farming. I would feel much more comfortable...
Anyone have experience with Buck n Run Ranch? I see they have some rare breeds available but I want to make sure they are a reputable business and treat their animals with care.
Also will the Roos be bigger in size when they are pullets? I have one that is def a lot bigger than the other 3 and the comb is a little bigger and turning a brighter red than the other 3's. I will try and put a pic up here......I just hope its a hen since I can have roosters here :/

It took mine forever to get the perching concept it seems. Now, at 5 months old, all 12 of them perch every night :) it sure makes counting them much easier!
