Other than that little spot she pecked it's all "healed" she is still left with that concave so it gets pretty dirty , but no openings. I spray the Poultry spray in the evening as it helps to rinse it a little. Before today she was wearing a bandana daily but I know she needed a break
I meant to take a pic today but will tomorrow ❤️ She has been about a week or just a little less than a week back in her coop with my E.E. I still do the Poultry Vetrcyn and Scarlet oil in the morning and night . I try to keep a light bandana tied around her so she doesn't get sunburned as only...
I think these photos now can show just how much of a difference in depth there is. You can see her upper feathers already starting, her lower wound is almost closed but the middle I am pretty sure the dog not only tore but ate the fat with it. I'm thinking she may always have a concave here and...
So Bella my uninjured Easter Egger is doing a little better in our backyard even though it appears extremely lonely. However at night I plan to bring her in to sleep with Maisie so they still see each other. How ver, as the sun goes down Bella is already at my back door and just to see how she...
Update - her little bandana was flipped up and she pecked it all out. Can't really tell from her but the back skin is much higher than middle. Same day a couple hours apart
10 days ago my hens were attacked by neighbors dog. I have a post in the Predator Forum. Does her wound look as though it...
We are at the point we may be rehoming both once Maisie heals. I can't take a chance with the neighbors dogs and they are complete------------ we want NO association with them at all nor do we want our fence to continue with damage or worrying of them digging under. Just don't want aggravation
Because it's so hot here 🌴 I figured Bella my unharmed E.E. can enjoy a little dust bath or two outside. This is what she does instead in less than an hour back there. Then she comes in panting. She's never had issue with the heat and she's only been inside for 10days.
Day #8
No smell but once again I just wonder how this will ever close/heal. Trying to have faith and read other past posts. 😒 Thankfully no smell at all.
3xs a day
Vetericyn Poultry spray
Neosporin (generic- already went through 2 tubes in 3 days)
Scarlet Oil
Wondering if I should add...
3xs daily
*Veticyrn Poultry spray
*Neosporin
*Scarlett oil
**Kept covered with a bandana tied lightly around her. Still breathable and she is so used to it on she doesn't try to take it off but if it is off she eats the Neosporin etc.
How long do you all think on average should it take for her wound to close? I'm starting to feel 😜 and like they will never get back out again and right now they are inside as it's way too hot in my garage. My E.E just wants to hang with us like a dog, found out from my daughter that when my...
Oh my. What type of eggs could these be 😕 washing out the bin and found clusters like this all in the inside and around the water container. I put fresh pine bedding in daily
Today I did the poultry Vetrcyn 3xs, Scarlet oil 3xs and Neosporin 2xs. Plus she got scrambled eggs with fresh garlic, turmeric and a mix of high vit c fresh herbs . Hope she looks like she is improving. Ive had them for 4yrs and never dealt with an injury like this.
Pic of her wound and her...
The Scarlett oil suggested by my sweet, wildlife rehabber friend seems to be quickly helping (vs the silver sulfadizine that can lower WBC and slow wound closure per several studies). Today Maisie jumped out of her bin and wanted her treats. No 👃 from her wound just the smell of the oil. So...
How it looks tonight. That's not blood but the Scarlett oil. My friend who is a wildlife rehabbEr swears by it and has used it on chickens with amazing results too. I will say when I sprayed it on her I swore I could tell she relaxed a bit and then left it alone. So tonight it is uncovered 👏 👏...
