I candled my 9 eggs tonight. 4 were clear, darn it. The other 5 are growing just fine! YAY! Lockdown is the 22nd. The heat is definitely a factor here, so 4 clear out of nine is not a surprise. Fingers crossed for the ones in the bator.
This flock has a Svart Hona trio, 4 Olive Egger hens and an Olive egger roo. I'm disappointed with the Svart Hona hens due to the poor egg production. My olive eggers are good and consistant layers.
Thanks! Heat has really impacted egg-laying this year, but since I give the eggs away to my neighbor a slowdown is ok. LOL
I lost my flock of 13 sociable, great layers to a coyote trio last year. Broke my heart. They had free-ranged out back for 3-4 years with no problems at all There were other...

Eggs are from my own girls so I'm expecting a good hatch. Just 8 eggs this time. Girls are not laying too great.
Heat has been brutal here and monsoons look promising, but not much rain. Lightning show was...
Understand completely. Hubby's good "friend" decided he didn't want to be a partner in the business and demanded his $ back. We had to take out a loan on our home to pay the sob off. We were better off without him, for sure. Lazy do nothing guy. Life goes on, things get better. Hang in...
I candled my CCL eggs tonight (day 9) and there are 9 for sure developing, 1 maybe, and 2 iffy. They all went back in the bator for now. Excited! I love hatching chicks.
Did you get the chicks mailed out okay?
Did any actual cemani hatch from the other eggs you bought?
How did the blue copper marans hatch turn out?
Inquiring minds want to know. LOL
Fingers crossed that this seller did send the right eggs and you get a decent hatch. The fact the seller did contact you and sent more eggs is encouraging, at least.
