    that looks like a partridge chick, from what i just searched up. and could be a cockerel, looks to only be one or two weeks old, but has a bit of a comb already... but that might just be a wyandotte thing. i don't have any experience with wyandottes, so i what i say might not be accurate...

    I have always wanted silkies, and am ordering a bantam assortment, come summer. so I'm wondering how hardy silkies are? my friend lost several silkies to cold and predators, and said they didn't do well in winter, but some people say they've had silkies die from heat... many books and websites...

    i've heard of many stories, where the chicks have imprinted on someone, and cry when they leave the room, maybe take them out of the brooder for a few minutes, and see if they follow you. If they do it means they think you're they're mom! and they will be incredibly tame chickens, they see you...
