    My 3 month Old LF salmon favorelle is tiny. He is only a little bit larger that a female bantam Cochin of the same age. I also have 2 BC Marans that are at least twice his size. Is it normal for SF cockerel to take much longer to grow and mature then other breeds?

    SIlkies, cochins are great mothers. You have a RIR rooster so you might want to try a LF chicken. My buff orpington and wyandote go broody all the time and are great mothers. They might be able to handle your large rooster better that the bantam ones.
