Next Wednesday night, the forecast is a low of 38° and the lowest in the coming 8 days. The hives are in a valley, and cold air definitely settles down there, so frost would not surprise me at all. Mid-October is about when we get out first frost, so right about average timing.

garlic fertilization soak
This is what I did.
My first year of growing garlic, I planted November 1, and had a great first harvest. Since then, I've aimed for mid-October to November 1, depending on the weather.

Gypsum/sulfur for garlic....!
I bought some gypsum for my tomatoes, and it fixed my blossom end rot issue. I had zero BER this year.
I might try adding some gypsum to my garlic bed. I also have some powdered sulfur too. Hmmmmm...
