    The broody will more likely protect the chicks, but keep a GOOD eye on them. Sometimes the other hens will pick on the new chicks, which sometimes they kill them. If you had a rooster older than a year he would protect them. The broody hen will keep them warm. I always keep the chicks inside...

    I care about my chickens a lot and don’t want to give them old eggs, even though I know it’s fine. I see how the rain and weather will effect the egg I guess the person who wrote article forgot about that.

    They will be ok to feed to your chickens, and may be ok for you to eat. They might taste funky?

    In the summer any eggs that I find laying around that seem ok to eat I scramble and feed to my 9 chickens. And they love them!
