Do I need to worry about this owl?
I know, off the bat, most of you said YES as you read the title! But, here goes. We have a coop, and the run has bird netting on top. It's not totally secure, there are holes in it, but for the most part, it's solid. The run itself is built out of hardware cloth. There is a door for the chckens...- annep

What kind is this? Mystery chicks
Just bought our first chicks yesterday from a super nice man and his family..But, there were three that he wasn't sure about. I cant figure out how to post a pic, so my profile pic is the pic..Any ideas what she is? Also, one of them is sort of aggressive..She goes right after my finger anytime...- annep

So chickens can withstand -0 temps. But....
Living in Colorado, and haven't put heat on them...I asked the same question back at the beginning of winter, and got the same answers..Dont heat them..- annep

Need advice.
I would be really careful..We had a lone survivor of a fox attack, got some younger pullets who weren't laying yet..She attacked and bit off their toes..We have two layers right now we call stumpy..it was not pretty..we ended up getting rid of her because no matter what we did, she'd attack the...- annep

Chickens in the snow?
My girls like to hang out in our rabbit shed, which is clear across the yard..It's warm, and has tons of hay on the ground..So, we shovel a path for them..We do a big area infront of their coop, where the water and feed is, then just a simple path across the yard..They appreciate it very...- annep

spicy foods?
They cant taste the hot, but it will heat them up inside, so make sure they have plenty of water, they will drink more than normal if they get alot of spice...- annep
