Most are referring to chicks' eye color changing as they mature, although one did mention nutrition which I didn't think would be an issue because I feed a decent chicken feed. Although, maybe layer pellets aren't great for the long-term...

    This is one of our BCM chicks from last spring. She doesn't have a single white feather now and lays our darkest egg. Very glad that we let her grow out. Looking at these pictures side by side I noticed that foot color on the rooster looks yellowish. Or is that just the lighting?

    Oh, so sorry! I'd separate her and start by giving her a warm bath to soak the poo off. Make sure to keep her warm. You mentioned blood in her poo and stinky poos. What about Coccidiosis? We used Cordid (amprolium) in the past when we suspected Coccidiosis.

    So does this look like scaly leg mites to you? The scales aren't damaged anyplace except near the feather follicles. I'm trying to pinpoint the cause so that I can medicate appropriately.

    We don't spray any pesticides or weed killers on yard, so I doubt it. I see similar damage on the guy in pics that free ranges and on roos in pens. I don't see it on our Wyandotte/Sumatra mix that doesn't have feathered legs and I don't see it on our hens whether they are feathered or clean...

    That was the first thought, but our vet took a skin sample from the area and found no mites under the microscope. I might treat like mites anyway.
