    I bought 3 pullets from a co-worker and returned one as I think it is cockerel. Huge legs, long tail, start of fluffy hackle feathers. Just doesn't have that cute little rumpy butt of hens. What do you think?

    It is better to leave it open to the air if not bleeding. Keep clean and Granulex is good stuff. It looks good in that last post. I would not cover it with anything. Air is your friend.
  5. I put side flaps on the Ark coop that I can raise or lower. Helps keep the rain out of the coop part. I also built a platform but I am getting rid of it as I have a dog kennel on order which I am going to paint black and then just put the coop in there with no run. I have a 30 foot x 50 foot fenced area they can run about during the day. Eventually I am getting rid of this coop too and getting a sturdier and leak proof model. Live and learn.

  9. Garage dustbox with garden soil, peat moss, DE, sand and poultry dust. I brought the girls in the garage when we had a hurricane and left them inside all winter. Easy to maintain but a dusty mess to clean up in spring. They are outside again! They made a beeline for this dust box immediately.
