That would actually be really funny to watch a chickens raise a huge duck. The only issue would be the water and the chicks not floating. But it might be the ducks first in stinct to wade on into the water. Maybe you could prevent it from happening by raising it like a chicken.
Weird, my chickens are only 7 & 8 months old. My 8 month old, Maddie, is very broody but she doesn't steal eggs. Since she's young, it's not her instinct to sit on eggs and be a mother.

The next time you give them blueberries, keep the fruit whole and watch them try to fit it in their mouths/beaks. Also give blueberry muffins a try. Your little gals will go crazy for it.
