It's official, all 4 of the OE's are cockerels. I was hoping for at least 1 pullet. If anyone knows anyone, they are free. Would make great table birds.
I have 4 F5 olive egger cockerels, FREE. They are handsome fellas. They are an F4 olive egger crossed with my Wheaten Marans roo. 2 of each color. 5 weeks old

Got a text this morning from a guy that bought chicks from me back in June (I know his cousin) he came all the way from Hempstead for these chicks, which is almost 2 hrs away. He wants 20 more, so I guess I'm firing up the incubator again🤣
Almost 6, she's a large lady, and gets around pretty slow these days, just likes to chill in the shade most of the time. I personally think her weight has a lot to do with it, I know folks say chickens are great at regulating their feed intake, but she does eat a lot, lol. Idk, I'll let her do...
So far so good with the nut, I'm sure she'll start laying in a couple weeks then go broody again🤣 In other news Maribel, my old lady light brahma, is acting really off. She's been staying in the coop on the roosts a lot, not eating much, and let me tell you this big lady does not miss meals...
There has to be an established order (the pecking order). These are still young pullets, so I'm sure there will be changes to the pecking order as time goes on. As long as no one is getting hurt I'd just let it play out and see if it resolves after some time. How many birds do you have and how...
Let the nut outta the clink yesterday after work, no clucking, and she went to roost last night 🤞 I've got a lady coming for 3 more birds tomorrow, I asked her if she'd be interested in her as well (I did give full disclosure on her broody tendencies) she said while she is beautiful, she doesn't...
So I let Mrs. Coo Coo out after work today because she had stopped clucking in the grow out area. I did waterers and feed and as I was walking back to my she shed I heard it, " cluck cluck cluck", I looked in the coop and this lunatic was picking out a nest box🤦♀️ You should have heard her when...
I recently got a text from the hubs as he was in a similar situation 🤣 All you can do is sit back and laugh and enjoy your vacation. (They don't realize how much "work" it is until they have to do it😉)
The hubs built the portable roost bar for the grow out pen (it'll be multipurpose come next spring with the extension) it looks great, will easily hold 5 birds. While he was putting it in there, "the crazy b!tch escaped" as he put it 🤣 I was at an annual safety meeting, and lost my sh!t when he...
The only other broody I have that's ever done this is Onyx and she does it every time she hatches. I have a brick that I keep in the coop as a little step to help them out. Goofy birds, lol
