Hi, Bob.
I'm in the Bay Area (Oakley) and would love to have the Olive Egger! I have a flock of about 40 chickens of varying ages so maybe she'll be too busy figuring out where she is in the pecking order to be pulling feathers.
Also, I find that chickens tend to pick on each other when they...
We have a white bantam frizzle cochin cockerel available to a good home. We've raised him since he was 4 weeks old and he's a healthy and robust little guy. He's about 10 months old.
I'd like to rehome him because we have too many roosters and the hens are getting overworked.
I'm not able to...
Thank you! I've never even heard of Golden Comets so I'll be looking up that breed now.
This poor guy looks like he's gone through a lot. The clouded over eyes and there's a lot of dried/crusted up wounds on his combs and wattles.
Now the challenge that I have is integrating him into the flock.
We recently rescued a rooster (from a coyote) and since none of our neighbors have claimed him, he's still with us. He appears to be blind in one eye (the eye is clouded over), and the pupil in the other eye is really small, which leads me to think the vision is impaired in that eye as well. I...
We found this rooster and none of our neighbors have claimed him. He appears to be blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other so I'm taking him in. Curious as to his breed, though. Any ideas?
TIA!
I have what I think is an Easter Egger/Ameraucana and Black Copper Marans cockerel. I have too many males so I am planning on rehoming him. But first I want to double-check that I'm not giving away a bird with special coloring or anything like that. Is he one that I should keep?
Thanks!
Excellent information, thank you! I have not received nor shipped hatching eggs so this was super educational. A lot of my questions were answered, thanks again!
