Good morning pond! We made it safely back home from Texas and DS made it safely to his new base. 2 days with him was definitely not long enough but we are glad to be home. We spent our second day with him, after the final graduation ceremony, at SeaWorld San Antonio and we had a lot of fun. I am...
That it is not! Texas weather isn't even close to our Pennsylvania weather! DD is at home, dealing with a frost advisory this morning...We plan to put on shorts and a t-shirt and go to SeaWorld lol.
Yesterday was wonderful and it was great to see DS, hug him and hang out with him. We went to...
Now that sounds like a fun festival! We have potato fest going on right now in a town nearby and the Apply Cider Festival will be next Sunday at the park. I've been doing what I can to help prep for it since I'll be away all this week and can't help with the majority of the setup like usual
Good morning pond! I'm dragging myself in to work. It's the last day of a 9 day stretch! 1 week from now, I'll be in Texas to see DS graduate from basic training! I'm counting the days!
This was the first year that I did not hatch any poults. I have one hen laying now but I'm not going to attempt to hatch this time of year. Earlier in the year, I got some eggs but none of them were fertilized. I think my old flock is getting too old. Speaking of which, Sweet Pea is still...
I haven't seen one in days either. I think it's time to take mine down. I'll get to it when I have the energy though. I'm on the second half of a 9 day work week. I'll have to refill my regular feeder with BOSS too. I know it's empty but there's still suet out there. I have to coat the BOSS in...
We have a couple of citrus trees that are too big/ heavy to be hauled into the house anymore. We pruned them up and shoved them in there. I also got a little mimosa tree start. It actually can live outside here but I feel bad because it's so small so I'm keeping it in the greenhouse for its...
I had fun with that over the weekend! The wording that it DID have was weird and confusing but most of it was without words! We did manage to get the greenhouse put together eventually though!
We ended up with about 11 gallon liplock bags full. 6 went in the freezer, 2 went to my brother in law, 1 to my mom, 1 to my daughter's boyfriend's family, and 1 is in the fridge to go to work tomorrow for whoever is brave enough to try it lol. It's savory and delicious!
Voting tends to take a very long time, especially trying to work around everyone's schedules to get it done. Sometimes, it takes longer than expected. Try to be patient :)
Good morning pond! The soup was a success! Good thing we stopped at 14 times the recipe (because that's all the hocks we could get our hands on). The BIG pot was full!
There was still one female hummingbird hanging around this past week though I haven't paid attention the past couple of days. She was content to just come and perch at the feeder and rest between sips. That makes me think that most have already taken off since my feeder has been so competitive...
Good morning pond! It's going to be a day today! One of my favorite soups is split pea and ham soup and I always make a bunch to freeze because it's a pain to make. Last year, I did 5x the recipe hoping it would last a while. It was a lot BUT it didn't make it very long since we love it so much...
Good morning pond. In the 40's here this morning. It's chilly! We got a small greenhouse ordered for our lemon trees for the winter since our old one basically fell apart and we got the inflatable hot tub drained out for winter storage. My back is missing it already. 3 more weeks of work before...
