Hey, all. I need advice. I have a broody who’s been sitting on 4 eggs for 6 days. Everything was going smoothly until another in my flock decided to brood with her earlier today. Now there’s one egg missing and I think they both may have given up.
of course my incubator is ready, but how much...
I've heard you can knot up a skein of yarn in stockings and wash like normal. As long as the skein is contained enough so that it does not unravel or tangle. I haven't tried it, but it seems like it would work.
Learned a new stitch...
I'm making a throw for a friend who loves cats and the Vikings. I hope the colors are right. I'm not crazy about them, but I think she will be.
Actually, my grandmother used to make us slippers when I was young and I definitely didn't like the way they felt. It was almost like there was a seam or something underneath. I really thought these were comfortable. I didn't notice the stitches, maybe because it's just rows of dc. Not to...
Oh my gosh, sooo easy!!! I made that pair for an aunt, made my mom some, and may make myself some!!

Making slippers as a thank you gift...
What do you think?
Added a little bling...
Now I'm using fabric paint to make the bottom non-skid. Hopefully it works ;)
Here's a few pictures of my light brahmas right around 7 weeks. You can see in the one, her comb looks very pink. There's one where the tail feathers are coming in sticking up. The only difference I can really see is coloring.
Don't stress over the light brahma yet! I've gotten two in two differ orders and for some reason they are always the one I'm worried is male. So far so good. Of all 12 chicks I've ordered, all have been female. I've also only had one DOA and one that needed a little help pulling through.
Oh and I've heard mixed reviews on egg color coming from the OEs. Some find them to be just green. I did read of someone here getting a partial refund when their OE did not lay an olive egg. I'm not sure that's much of a consolation but don't get your hopes up too high.
I love your babies! The light brahmas are one of my favorite because of their personalities and they are down right gorgeous. The black and white is striking! And I have not ordered olive eggers so can't speak to them, but I have ordered ameraucanas. They are surprisingly flighty, much more...
...to do next.
Can't wait to see chick pics!!!!! I had to cancel my order, so I'm ready to live vicariously through others. The light brahmas have been my favorite. I just lost my lav orp a few weeks ago. I think it was a combination of 100* temps and bullying. She was very sweet and quite...
Thanks for the links, dragonbird. I love the mop tops. I may make a few of them in addition to a teddy.
BTW, also love your owl blanket. It's just so cute!
Hey crocheters! I'm looking for a pattern for a teddy bear. I've looked online and am not totally thrilled with any of them. There is one on ravelry that I could probably edit a little bit. Just curious if any of you had a favorite!
I have to share...I found this tutorial on how to repair damaged granny squares. I think the same strategy could be used to fix lots of items.

Well, you've convinced me! I ordered one each: barred rock, exchequer leghorn, light brown leghorn, golden buff, and black australorp. I'm hoping to amp up my egg production and still have all different breeds so I can tell who is who! Yay!
