    Agreed! Those colored shafts are fascinating to see as the bird moves about. I've had dark shafts in white feathers (usually in splash marked birds) which are also interesting, but the dark feathers around the light shafts I find the most intriguing.

    Cumulo has similar marks. The feather shaft is gold while the feathery parts are black. The gold around the face is leakage. Not sure on the shaft color.
