Got 2 chicks that hatched on Mother's Day yesterday, first picture is of the chick last night. Most of the eggs are barnyard mix, covered by a cream legbar roooster, with 3 or 4 pure cream legbar eggs in there. Also have copper maran and BBS Ameraucana in the the mix. I just realized, my 2...
it's been good so far, I've been worried on lockdown, because the first time I used it... I had a pretty bad hatch rate. Right now I've been using my little giant for lockdown day till I can actually buy a hygrometer for it.
not one here, but I found someone guy on youtube that uses that incubator for hatching. He gave me a few tips, like to keep the water tray it comes with with water and make sure it's in a room that has a constant temperature. The only thing is, I had to buy some humidity gauge, since it doesn't...
Got eggs that are suppose to hatch on May 4th, May 6th, and May 8th. Eggs set to hatch on the 4th and 8th, are barnyard mix (daddy is Cream Legbar Rooster), with some pure cream legbar chicks. May 6th hatch are BBS Ameraucana and Black Copper Marans. The waiting is sooo hard D:
Okay, so I'll be firing up my incubators this weekend and I'm wondering. Is it worth tossing in my ISA Brown eggs that I've been getting. I have other breeds in my flock, but just wondering if I should waste my time with trying to hatch out their eggs. I know they're a hybrid breed and are made...
Don't have any pictures on hand, but a friend just let me borrow her mom's Model 846 incubator that holds up to a 100 eggs. It doesn't have the manual in it, and this is the first time I'm using an incubator like this. I've only ever hatched in a Little Giant one. Does anyone happen to have a...
See, not sure if they got their birds from a hatchery or a breeder. I think what's throwing me off, is the difference in combs on both roosters. They look identical, aside from the comb and someone in my area is looking to buy some SLW roosters and I don't want to sell them something that isn't...
So I got a couple of eggs to hatch last year in the summer, and out of the dozen I bought 4 were fertile and these 2 came out. From all the pictures I've seen online, they look like SLW - Silver Laced Wyandotte. Since there is so many of you guys, I figured I would ask and see if my guess on...
Came across this thread looking for breeders. Any breeders in Saskatchewan? Looking to establish polish (own a roo), brahma, ccl (own a roo), and marans flocks.
Thanks! I still have to look for some hens for him. Hopefully I can get some next year, as it's a little late in the year for me to find any. I will keep these points in mind, when I breed him next year.
