Well the lady had both Ameraucana and Easter egger chicks at the same time when I got this one and I wondering if she gave me an Ameraucana by mistake as other Easter eggers look nothing like this one, the hen is black Ameraucana and the rooster is blue like the chick. Would that cross generate...
Could this chick possible be an ameraucana? It ( presumably he) was sold to me as an Easter egger but the lady I got her from breeds true Ameracauna as well and this one is the spitting image of her male, it's starting to grow tuffs and a beard and has slate blue legs and all the other features...
Well that's encouraging, I would love it if the frizzle was a female as he is super cute :) haha I said he, I have thought since I got him he was a male, I guess I must wait and see!
That's my thoughts as well although the peacomb has me a little worried but something about that one just screams female to me but I have a bad track record for choosing girls so we will have to wait I guess lol and I like your user name!! I think a chicken would make a great president
Any thoughts on these 2? I think the frizzle is male but still holding out hope for the grey one. They are 5 weeks, the peacomb is not quite as pink as it looks in the pic. Thanks for your opinions!
Thanks Donrae for your answer, my gut is still telling me one might be a girl despite the comb and wattle development, the one in the third and fourth picture, could be wishful thinking on my part but it just seems to behave more like a female. Time will tell but I am so impatient
These chicks are 5 weeks and I was wondering if anyone has any idea about sex? I am thinking male but hoping I am wrong.. thanks in advance for you input!!
I will try all of this. Thank you for the advice. I am thinking it is wry neck so hopefully it will help. Thid guy has always been a runt so could be something he has always has had..he is small with just a little comb and wattle and I even thought he was a she until recently when I heard him...
I am not 100% sure if it's wry neck or an injury but something is going on with his neck. I will get some vitamins and selenium today and try it. It does seem like whatever is wrong seems to be making it hard to bend his head down to eat so I have to do something for him. I can move his neck...
I have a 24 week old barred rock rooster that seems to have developed some sort of neck issue. The best way l can explain it is his neck looks sunken into the body and when I touch his neck it feels like the bones are bent or twisted, kind of like a lump in his neck.. He doesn't seem to be in...
