    That's what makes sense to me. But I wasn't sure based on mix breeding. But this is something I'm going to experiment with and see what I can get. Hopefully over several years I can get some good dark egg layers

    I purchased black jersey giants last year and I lost my rooster. Now I have black broiler (I was told they are dark Cornish x australorp cross) chicks that just arrived. I'm wondering if I'd get a good meat bird if I keep a black broiler rooster to breed to my black jersey giants. Any Ideas??

    I need a little help. I'm trying to breed to the standard but I'm down to one rooster I lost my other one and this one all of a sudden grew two white tail feathers. Is it possible to breed this out in future birds?
