NO I have not checked for either. She is Laying again and has a lot more spunk but still she is not herself at all. I dont see any mites but cant get close enough to her to really check. Not sure how to tell if she has worms but I could treat the drinking water with a worm control?
This post is what I have been awaiting for. We have used that style of heating lamp for inside the coop. Never had a problem and that style it helped (not a lot) but took the Nip out of the coop. The problem this year seems to be that it doesn't go really dark so one of my girls seems to think...
Hi, I see the response that it is normal and have read that BUT... I had one of my girls go through a VERY heavy Molt. I almost thought she became so weak that it was going to kill her. She was my Strongest girl too. She barely moved, stayed huddled in a corner and it lasted for weeks. Her Comb...
I have been holding her on my lap and massaging the crop. THe liquid is some clear then brown/dark greenish color. It has gone down a bit since a lot has come up. They eat grass every day when they are let out to roam for a couple hours (for years now -same thing). She pulls her head up when...
1) What type of bird , age and weight.
Austrolope /7/4 lbs
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
Circling her head as trying to bring up the liquid (sounds like liquid in the crop as well) no more throwing up but swelling crop, keeps closing her eyes, making a gagging/gurgling sounds
3) Is...
Her crop area is now really getting swollen and puffed out. Should I massage it to see if she can throw more of what ever up? What should I do?
Please anyone ahve an idea?
I have read the ER page and nothing really tells me why she is throwing up, won't eat and is still rolling her neck and head. Her Crop area is mushy and she is puffing all the area up. I am not surewhat to do? She didn't even have any water that I saw but has been acting funny for 3 days now...
...sunroom, with warm temps, no one picking at her and she needs to go back outside now (also my husband is very allergic and it is killing him)-
*** ANY SUGGESTIONS ? How do I reintroduce her without them killing her (they are very aggressive) and how about the temps here as she is used to...
...one is doing GREAT the only problem is that she is still int he sunroom, warm temps, not one picking at her and she needs to go back outside-
*** ANY SUGGESTIONS ? How do I reintroduce her without them killing her and how about the temps here as she is used to 68 not 48 ? I am now even...
Thanks to all of you for your advice. I brought my little one back in after only the 1 night outside in the coop when I saw her in the morning she was standing outside shivering so I went and brought her back in. The biggest problem then came whe she say my "fat mommy" and attacked her inside...
I am so very sorry to hear that. I am having the very same thing going on right now with mine, lots of poo stuck to her bottom (greenish and white very liquid) she is hardly moving around, not vocal at all. She will pick at eating. I brought her in tonight and will give her a warm bath...
OK my little girl went outside tonight and back with her sisters. They were not exactly happy to see her and picked on her a bit and she could only run away from them (I felt just terrible) When it was time for the others to go in and to roost she looked at me and kept crying and tried to follow...
Ok my little girl is getting so much better from an activity side, she is eating like crazy, walking a lot better but really has bad poo (I think??) She is going about 15-20 times a day and there is a lot of liquid! I feel terrible for her as I was going to put her back with the others tonight...
I am so sorry for your little one and for you. I know it can be difficult to put them down and I am going through the possiblity of doing the same thing now. My heart goes out to you but you did what you could to make her last days more comfortable.
Hi everyone, I have been busy with both my girls and trying to save them. The most frustrating thing for me is I just don't know what is wrong and how to help them.
My little one that I brought into the house is doing better (walking wise-still staggers a little and lifts her leg up real...
HI to everyone- here is an update so any other thoughts would be greatly apprecaited-
I am on day 9 with her, giving her antibiotics and vitamins in the wet catfood but she is not walking that much better. She seems just a little better and very alert but not walking better.
We came home the...
