Well ours has changed quite a bit. I now have the incubator warehouse 250 watt heater kit in it and also the humidity pan with sponges and bucket. I now have a worry free incubator it was worth the money as the other temp peice kept loosing its settings and would spike and cause the eggs to cook...
yeah you are really left to feel helpless. I wait for them to pip first, then usually if they arent still out after hours go by, usually 6 to 8, i will pick the shell around the pip to make sure they have air , then let them go from there. that is usually all the interference i do.if any at all
It happens, Probably nothing you did as long as your temps and humidity were ok. It happens sometimes and pulls at your heart when it does. But watching all the other fuzzy's running around help.
Time for an update, The incubator i made from a wine cooler has been so solid sitting right at the perfect temp. we've set numerous times and have had really nice hatches out of it. mostly been setting anywhere from 36 to 48 eggs hatching anywhere 30 to 40 almost every time. Our temps have been...
Well did some candling. Out of the 15 eggs that were set, I ended up with only three that are viable. The rest I guess didnt get fertlized. No blood ring , spots or nothing, the other three are from an older hen, the others were all from new layers.
I will also be building a hatcher with two trays, I was looking at the one controller I saw that did both temp and humidity , but i wasnt too sure about that. I really like the idea of two seperate peices for it being easy to set up and wire. Again its another wine cooler but much smaller. and...
Ours is set up and running with close to 80 eggs in it now. Its been running since the 28th of August. I will probably change the setup for keeping my humidity though. The zoomed fogger puts out a cool mist, I was thinking of a steam unit where it would put out a hotter form and wouldnt cause my...
Just send the seller a message and tell them you need a 110 volt unit. They have both on most of the auctions I have seen. The Humidity one was really easy to set up. Since I have had it set up and running both my temp and humidity have been very solid.I set the humidity up to hold at 40 with a...
i found it on ebay under humidity controller. its pretty simple to set up. the temp one is on ebay as well, once the box got to a stable temp, I then calibrated it to a known good thermometer. which was easily set in the set up, took about 5 min to set it up. but the trick was to get the box to...
I would say if it turns the tray when you hit the switch to do it manually, then the motor is probably not the problem. I would check to see if you have power going through the switch when set on auto, if not, then is there a timer on the incubator. You didnt say which incubator your working...
Well I got up this morning, at about 7:30 it had only used a 1/8th of the water in the bottle, and I finally got my tempature dialed in at 100 solid. I have three thermometers in their to compare to one another and two of them have been used in other incubators as well. So when I got home from...
I put my vents in the box near the bottom to help hold in the heat in the box. Now I have to figure out how to put the egg turners in with their cords so they dont get entangled with the other shelves
Here is a pic of it up and running, I put the pan in there to see what would happen if i gave the box something that would hold heat. My cycling of the heater slowed down alot. So i replaced that with water bottles on the rack at the bottom. My temps and humidity have been holding nice and...
Just an update, we now have 8 in the brooder, and 3 in the incubator with PIPS, and One egg that i want sure of that I put in there anyways, turned out to be a dud, and we lost only one that hatched, got out fell asleep and never woke back up. Poor thing. But all the others are great and and the...
I went to bed with one PIP in the eggs from the 13 I set after this and woke up to 4 newly hatched chicks who seem to be acting alot better than the last one, and the all but one of the rest have pips. But today is 21 for them. So Im not too worried yet.
No telling, I used a small red milk plastic cap, so I dont know. I just dont want to repeat what I did wrong. That is what I was thinking is that humidity can be kept higher and not bother them. Well I put another 13 in the hatcher tonight that was from a different batch, So I already had the...
I have had no real luck with shipped eggs, I have had lots of detached aircells. I set 20 shipped eggs on friday, and can see blood rings in about 10 of them already, I can see veining in about 4 or 5 and the others are clear or cant see through the shell well enough since it is so early.
I...
