He's a wyandotte so definitely pretty fluffy, I did read a little while ago people trim down there. He's a generally friendly guy, but I'm not sure how accepting he would be of it 🤣 but it could be worth a go?!
Hi all,
My favourite rooster is about 1 yr 11 months old. Since we've had him, he hasn't been in with girls (they were too young). He's been finally with his girls for about 2 months now, none of the younger girls are laying. But roughly 2 months ago I put in an older hen (1 yr old) to hatch...
Thank you!
They're lovely little girls. Unfortunately we lost one due to her slipping off the roost bar a few nights ago. But the other girls are lovely. These are our first batch of speckled we've grown. We have 2 older hens & a rooster & they're amazing birds, but we've had them for almost 8...
Hi all!!
We're getting this gorgeous girl in 6 weeks. She's a tri chocolate merle border collie.
Her pet name is going to be Maggie! I'm trying to think of something to be her registered name.
We own a small business with "Herd" in the title, so I'm trying to word play that into it.
Some...
Hi all,
I had 2 muscovy hens go broody together & sit on 17 eggs. Long story short, their cage got damaged & during the repairs they both abandoned the nest. Eggs were roughly 26-28 days when abandoned. I left all the eggs in the nest for 2-3 days, hoping they'd return. They didn't. During those...
No so what I did was wrap very lightly (baby could still move) inside in a small face washer type cloth. I left the neck & head out, but it just gave baby a comfortable place so they weren't against the plastic. After I believe day 2 or 3 I was no longer able to use the wrap as the chick was...
I can definitely try that again if those pics aren't great! I did try that but most came out blurry 😅 despite it being hot these guys are full of beans
Okay we got there! 🤣 it's hot here today so they didn't want to play ball at first.
I've photographed 5 different chickens. I've left out the obvious boys. Hopefully these are good!! The final photo is the 19 weeker. 2nd last could still be a boy - but I included it as it isn't as blatantly...
Thank tou!
I can definitely work on getting single pics
That's interesting, if that's the case I feel I only got 1x light sussex
Our Gold laced has a single comb, which doesn't help lol.
I'll work on those single pics & reply back to you when I have them!
Hi all, to start with our roo that fathered these guys is the speckled sussex. The hens hatched from at the time were a speckled sussex, a light sussex & a gold laced wyandotte.
This is my grow out cage so there are other breeds in here, but I'm only talking about the speckly chooks.
They are...
