Looked like it killed and ate a red winged blackbird. The silkies tried to off it every time it landed on the ground. It flew into the fence on the end with the bachelor pen. They watched and attacked each time
No idea if mine is. Probably like the septic and listed basically as "we assume there is one".
I found a similar septic about 300 feet from the house a few years ago. It's very close to the stream. According to my elderly neighbor, there used to be a small house over there as well.
Hopefully your silkies will use the ramp. Some do. Mine act like even a 2 foot ramp will kill them. I just put in cinderblock steps which they don't mind
It's a portable one. Has handle and wheels. With effort we can pull it up the ramp into the truck bed.
Lives under the awning and I just run power cords. Yes it's dirty. Anything under there for awhile starts looking like that. Just needs wiped down.
Cant hear my generator if your more than 50 feet away. It's running on Eco because no huge draw. It being super quiet was one reason we wanted this one. That way it doesn't attract tweakers
We're in that sort of rectangular blob at the bottom above the 8.
We at least have a crew assigned.
Orting citizens Facebook groups had a rumor that a transmission line is down and why the city is dark.
This looks much better than it did this morning
We have a small battery backup that I bought for hubby's Cpap but it can be used for an incubator if needed. I cant remember how long it will last with that draw. I had checked it
Silkies will absolutely stand in the spots of rain. Why mine are fully roofed and I tarp sides for winter.
Im not sure how to fix you're issue. If you can do the gutters that would probably be best
The black bears we occasionally get have left my pens alone. Dogs, weasels, coyotes, and hawks are my usual problems in that order. Since the neighbors problem dog was hit by a car haven't had the dog issue again. Their current dogs are all kenneled.
I have chainlink with 1/4 over. It stops weasels, thankfully or I'd have lost the silkies as well as the large fowl who didn't have the hardware cloth.
The only raccoons we've had have stayed away from the chickens. My german shepherd killed the opossum that killed some of my hens.
Nothing...
Because they spread disease and some chickens wont attack them. My silkies generally will attack rats.
We have shrews here as well that can go through 1/2. They don't go after feed, though. Voles will get caught up in 3/4 because they are dumb as bricks. Rats will chew a way if they can. Only...
The wheaten ameraucana I had would all go broody once a year. All were calm mothers. I've had other breeds that I wouldn't allow eggs again. The silkies can vary but seem to do best with the co-parenting.
When I incubate, I set humidity to 45%. Humidity pump doesn't come on much if ever...
