I just went out them and pulled them. Hope she doesn't hate me! Lol :hit My runner and Peking hens could care less about their eggs even when I had a drake before the eagle got him. RIP Clumsy.
hello everyone,
I have a Muscovy duck that is very protective of her eggs. The only thing is I only have female ducks. No babies in those eggs. Has anyone had a duck that has done this? I've had lots of ducks and never have had one do this. She isn't sitting on them but if you go anywhere near...
No, but one of my peafowl eggs just started piping!
I decided to candle one of the pheasants. No bloodline which is good but to dark to see movement. I'm losing hope on the pheasant chicks.
I counted wrong I'm on day 23 today. They haven't pipped yet but they have moved. I increased the humidity. If they don't hatch hopefully I have better luck with my peafowl.
Thanks! I have heard people keep turning till the end. I guess I will stop tomorrow at 23 days and hope for the best. I'm also hatching peafowl for the first time but they still have a little longer to go.
I have been told so many different things I'm not sure which one to go with!lol I have golden pheasant eggs in my incubator right now. My neighbor told me to stop turning them since I'm at 21 days today. I've hatched plenty of chickens and I always stop turning at 18 because that is 3 days...
Yes, day 19 in the incubator but they were under a broody hen for at least 3 days before we decided to put them in the incubator. (She started switching between nesting boxes so that's why we decided to incubate.) I'm just confused why one hatched so early. :/ I'm still holding out hope! :)
A life taken too short. While I was at the skating competition our loved pet duck Clumsy was taken from us by a bald eagle. We have a serious eagle problem on our farm. I wish I would have been home to defend him. We wanted him to enjoy his life not be cooped up. I hope he enjoyed the time he...
I just candled them. All but one I could see the chick! :yiipchick I'm sure they will hatch I just need to wait. I put them in the incubator on May 6th so it's only been 17 days. They were under a hen for a few days before she left the nest and I decided to incubate. I thinking maybe the one who...
I'm using a Styrofoam Still Air Incubator. I added the water and the temp humidity has stayed around where it needs to be. One hatched so I assume I had that part right.
I was going to candle them but I read on a different thread that once they start to hatch opening the incubator is bad. Do...
Hello everyone!
This is my first time hatching chicks in an incubator. I had a broody hen sit on 12 eggs for almost 2 weeks and then she gave up. So I decided to incubate the eggs. One hatched yesterday but the others haven't yet and it's been over 24 hours. Should I be worried? I can't see the...
That is the same food my chickens are on. When they were young I had them on different food but I change because the purina layer was easier to find. I also have oyster shells and grit out for them. Most of the time chickens just take what they need but maybe these two ate too much? :/ They both...
She died from renal failure due to kidney stones. :( They reason they believe is because I have chickens of all ages and she was eating high calcium layer food before she was laying. I'm going to add vitamin A I heard that helps with kidney stones. Does anyone know of anything else I can give my...
