I've always had pine shavings in my coop. I've decided to now go with sand. It's been a couple months and I sift it twice a week and sprinkle DE after. But it really smells. It actually smells worse than the shavings. How can I cut down on the smell?
Update...... the first pic I have 2 of them. At first I thought Brahma, but I went online from the hatchery I got them from and they look identical to their lavender marans. But they look nothing like the blue marans I got from them. So idk. The second pic is either a cream legbar or blue laced...
I received my order from the hatchery. I cant tell them apart. They also gave me some extras and i have no idea what they are. The first pic is an extra one. I was thinking light brahma, but not sure. The second I think is a lavender orpington, the 4 th pic I think is a blue laced red wyandotte...
Thank you!! I ended up with 2 naked necks. But I could swear the yellow chick came out of a NN egg, but it doesn't look like one. I thought it would be easy to tell the NN eggs from the golden comet eggs...guess not!! Lol
Rooster is BCM and the hens are EE, Naked Necks, Welsummer and Golden Comets. 14 out of 16 hatched. Sadly one died this morning. It was weak from the start though.
