    Yah on the pips. I take both plugs out when I go into lock down. Go ahead and take the plug out, they should hatch soon. It is amazing to watch them zip and pop out.

    Day 20

    I have 24 Araucna eggs on day 20 and I hear peeping. I have not hatched in a few years so im excited to see what I get. I set 24 and 24 made it to lock down. I'll keep you posted.

    Just want to say that I have hatched out many BC Marans. All my eggs hatch on day 21 except my Marans they Hatch on day 22 for me. Make sure to give them more time if they do not hatch right away.

    Waiting for the snow to melt

    I took this pic a few weeks back and the snow has melted some, there is still a good foot yet As you can see only the roof is showing on the banty house we had shovel to make a small path for them to get in the snow covered run. They are patiently waiting for spring to arrive.

    How do Muskovies do in cold weather?

    I have a pair and they do good here in mn. I have them in a insulated shed and make sure thier water doesn't freeze. I also have a small dog door so they can go in and out to the run as they please. On real cold and windy days they will stay inside. I have not had one freeze or get frost bite yet.
