    Anyone use SAND in the run/coop

    Find a local concrete supply company - they will have what's typically called construction or masonry sand - that is what we used.

    Roost!?!?

    Roosts are almost 5' wide and they are at least 12" apart. I'll see about 6 of them on the top one and 2 on the lower one.

    You're welcome - it all came together for our 8 girls :) When I 1st decided we were going to do this , I really scoured the www for process stories to understand things and then said we would do the same for someone else wanting to try. Glad you found it interesting :)

    hahaha - the kids were a huge help building the coop! Architect Dad had them doing things they didn't understand at first but they kept with it and achieved our goal :) Thank you for the complement - the family worked hard together to get 'er done .

    We'll be adding sweet pdz to the hen-house sand - I've heard that helps quite a bit . We used it in our brooder and also in the run sand and it works really well.
