Which of my silver laces are most showable. Please judge

Its really funny that you should mention Jerry Foley because the bird pics in my post are of a bantam I got off of him. His birds are absolutely stunning. If I knew how to get them to look like his I would tell you. Sadly I don't. But definatly good luck with trying to get that lovely round shape.

    Breed Identifying

I'm not sure if she would pass the trait on or not. I don't know if that's a gene that works like that. Hens can still lay at a year and a half old I believe. Mine started laying at a little less than a year old as I recall.

    Are these Wyandotte pullets?

It is okay to have Wyandottes with Rose combs or single combs

    Breed Identifying

Hens can have spurs and I know that some breeds of chickens like the Polish and the Silkie all have spurs. However black sex links should not have hens with spurs and your 2nd and 3rd birds do very much look like sex links. So I'm thinking maybe #2 is a rooster? Either that or she is just an...

Which of my silver laces are most showable. Please judge

I've shown quite a few Silver Laced Wyandottes over the years. The biggest thing I always look for in a bird first is the body shape. My ideal bird fits in a circle. I attached these pictures of my black Wyandotte bantam. I don't know if you can quite see but she fits in a circle really well...

    POULTRY SHOW!

Do some research and look at the pictures of the birds. There is no way to tell which is the "biggest/best." If you make yourself an informed consumer though you will be able to pick the best stock. Look at the Standards for the breeds you are interested in and familiarize yourself with what a...

    Dorking?

Yeah I would definately say she looks like a Dorking. And personally I think she looks rather feminine but that is based on no scientific evidence ;) And by the way that pic of her as a chick is utterly adorable. It looks like she was smiling for the camera.

little black chick in the back

Well she's pretty adorable. I think she still might be a black leghorn or a black sex link.

    Neck Feathers Missing...HELP, NOT MOLTING!!!

Are you sure she's not broody? Since the missing feathers are on the front of her neck and her crop/breast area it might be because she is sitting in her "nest" and plucking out some feathers to line it with.

    Bumblefoot--ideas needed

Usually when I get bumblefoot on my birds I totally clean out the infected scab/foot. Then I spray it down with Vetericyn and wrap it. I don't know if that's something you've tried yet but it usually works in at least reducing the size of the infection.
