dubbing is better to do , keeps them from cutting there comb trying to put head through wire , saves feed a dubbed bird takes less feed , more fertile , and you never know about frostbite , it never snows more than one or two inch here and never sticks , but this last year we had 15 in in one...
start feeding him from your hand , go walk up to the edge of of where he can reach on his cord , then sit down and put your hand out with feed in it , if he doesnt come to you then drop about 2 or 3 pieces of feed on the ground and not any more do the same the next day , do the same thing...

i donno about them not eating grass , because i know my chickens eat alot of grass, if you put them in a pen full of grass they will pretty much mow it , or have you ever noticed all the grass withen reach outside the pen is eatting ? i rotate my birds pens just so they can eat grass ,

how old are they ? are they penned alone or with hens? if they are penned alone they may just need a hen to calm them down if they are already with hens they may see you as a threat to there hens , or they could just be man fighters
i put my show birds in 55 gal barrel , with wash sand in the bottom about a week or 2 before a show , if you dont know what im talking about then google barrel colony, they are very good , the wash sand keeps feathers clean , only thing is if the birds to big like a jearsy giant it may not work ,
the ones with stripes are prolly spangled or wheaton , and the yellow will be redpyle , the splash should be from blue to black or white with blue tint the light red / brown with white head mayb the crele
