    Just sending love and prayers, that you are all safe. Was hoping everyone was taking their hens with them so scary the vulnerability of animals as their lives depend on us. We chose them they had no choice, so our responsibility to care for them and keep them safe.

    Yes I would definitely reach inside and clean out!!!. She will be oh so grateful and a lot more comfortable. Just make sure you've no fingernails and go gently. Lots of love

    Wow this was such a handy response. Didn't know that phosphorous was a problem really appreciated! and some of my tarts are getting quite old!!! I just discovered you can fix a wee bleed in the oviduct with increasing their vitamin K with fresh greens!!! highly successful. Never too old to learn

    Thanks Chicken juggler your measurement requirements look much more accurate for health. Im always nervous of responding, but hate any animal to be in less than great environments and it looks like a fantastic house and run for 6 chickens but not 16.

    Nice Run, but way too small for 16 hens. They need 2 yards square each and looks to me like a house for 6 hens not 16. Feed sounds ok, but a little light on protein when they can't free range.

    I think they're hungry. More protein definitely required. If you're just feeding wheat and they can't free range, they will be starved for protein. So eggs a great solution. Like being in a dinghy at sea with no hope of survival. You eat what's there. Chickens love eggs!!! and love chicken...

    My rhode island girl is now fifteen and still lays me beautiful eggs. I give them the best I can afford feed and home wise and they reward me continually.
