I got $3.00 each for the 4 dozen Leghorn egg's I sold last night over here. They were white ones. I think that sometimes it depends on if the customer knows that you do have your own chickens. I've had people asking to buy my extra egg's even before these girl's started laying.
I can understand that. Some people just don't realize that no matter what color the egg is on the outside, they are the same on the inside according to how many nutrients that they had excess to.
I'm still looking for those Gold Leghorn hatching egg's that you said are Buffs.
Waste not, want not. I had a 3 egg sandwich for lunch. I'm getting alot of egg's here now. My dog likes them, and smaller eggs get boiled up and crushed, then fed back to the chickens shell and all for a treat.
I think that it's cheaper to just buy a store bought chicken at the grocery store then the cost of the feed to raise a rooster to maturity to eat.
They are saying 105F here for this Friday.
The Leghorn should lay pretty good. I have 13 girl's of those but they are the different colors of them. I have the silvers, browns, and the blue gold duckwing one's.
