Do you think BigFoot is real??

For reference, one of the Patterson tracks. It looks typical for a bigfoot track from the 1960s and 1970s. A yeti track: An orang pendek track: The yeti and orang pendek tracks look a lot more consistent with what one would expect a bipedal ape’s foot to look like. They seem more...

Do you think BigFoot is real??

Correct. Establishing the Patterson film as a hoax doesn’t prove bigfoot doesn’t exist. The biggest issue by way of proof is that it calls into question the track catalogue, the tracks so far being the best physical evidence of their existence. Dr. Grover Krantz and Dr. Jeff Meldrum were...

Do you think BigFoot is real??

For the bigfoot buffs out there…. Be aware that over the next month, its very likely to be confirmed that the Patterson-Gimlin footage was a hoax all along. A film reel has surfaced from 1966 (a year to several months ahead of when the 1967 P-G film was filmed) that shows a trial run of the...

    Landrace/adaptive breeding discussion

My 2 cents, given what the goals of our projects in this thread are and from years of my experience with interfering with the social order, is this: don’t. Whenever I try to pick the genetic winners to control how my flock progresses against the option of letting natural selection happen on the...

I’ve seen roosters not like and refuse to breed particular hens. My Crackers that were more pure to their type would often refuse to breed hens that didn’t have body types that looked like Cracker hens. I took that to be the junglefowl influence.

Developing My Own Breed Of Large Gamefowl For Free Range Survival (Junglefowl x Liege)

You’ll note that I don’t even bother to take professional-grade pics of my chickens anymore. I takes 100 pics or more per chicken and maybe an hour or two to make 1-2 good, usable, pics. That’s time on a Saturday I’m not spending with family. I no longer see the point. A nice camera and a lot of...

Developing My Own Breed Of Large Gamefowl For Free Range Survival (Junglefowl x Liege)

Another concern I’m struggling with concerning restarting my channel is the widespread use of AI in animal videos. I see lots of AI wildlife videos that show wildlife doing amazing things, that are of course fake. That cheapens the value of real wildlife footage showing actual amazing behavior...

Sony just dropped a massive update to the PS5 Pro that introduces advanced AI upscaling. It looks amazing. Monster Hunter Wilds off my system in the screenshots.

#9. (Star Wars) TIE Fighter for MS DOS. Love this game as a teenager. It was such a neat idea to play as the Empire and to reframe the narrative to where the Rebels were terrorists. I probably put 300 hours in the game easy. The gameplay was great. It had just enough challenge as a flight...

I don’t subscribe to that theory. Few if any animals have better daytime eyesight than raptors. I suspect they can tell the difference between a crow and a chicken just fine. I theorize that people who’ve had black chickens fare better have simply had tougher breeds that happen to be black...

Up to this point they’ve been thriving. And perhaps they still are. Seems like last year’s brown hens raised a lot of lighter chicks, and I’m hoping those black hens are setting. Also, Carolina bantams are mostly black. I just looked through some pics I took yesterday and in this pic there...

So here’s what happens when life gets busy. You blink and you realize the composition of your flock has changed. I barely have any black hens. This time last year black hens were dominating. Conspicuously missing are two black hens that were the best free-range mothers last year. Hopefully...

Developing My Own Breed Of Large Gamefowl For Free Range Survival (Junglefowl x Liege)

I have no worries whatsoever about birds of prey. The terrorfowl have a large, open-air, paddock that a bird of prey can dive bomb them in. It doesn’t happen. If a hen goes into distress, Rex immediately comes charging. If I grab a hen he’ll even charge me, but then hesitate and submit to me one...

Developing My Own Breed Of Large Gamefowl For Free Range Survival (Junglefowl x Liege)

21 eggs are in the incubator. I lost many of my good hens this winter to my bulldog puppies. I had to take the terrorfowl off of free range and start keeping them behind a high electric fence. I believe my rooster would now do serious damage to the bulldogs. The red bucket is 5 gallons.

The free-range flock has mostly folded back into itself, with only one cockeral and straggler hens regularly doing their thing. Here is most of the flock scratching a pile of hay. It seems like whether they split or come together depends on what food source they’re taking advantage of. The...

I’ve never lost a chicken to a vehicle that I recall. I’ve lost many turkeys. They see their reflection and squat to be bred by the truck as is backs over them.

I’ll start with #10. Dragon Age: Origins tied with Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Between the two, I think Dragon Age: Origins is a greater achievement. KOTOR came first. It had a great story. Its just that its gameplay and exploration had major guiderails. You generally went where the...

This got me thinking about Halo: Combat Evolved on the original Xbox. It was the game that hooked my aunt. It was also a game my grandfather enjoyed watching me play at night. He’d get in his recliner and eat Oreos and drink milk and watched the game like a movie. He enjoyed the difficulty of...

I have an aunt now in her 70s that became a hard-core because of the original Xbox. She’s kept up through all the subsequent console generations and plays it all.
