Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugsyou will miss him for a while. Then some days will pass where you don't think about him and that's OK too. As time passes, he will fade back into the past....then you'll see/hear/smell/think of something and he'll be right in front of you (memory wise) and...

Color: I'm seeing a little bit of gold around Merle's face. Makes me think she's carrying gold that's leaking through. It's possible the contributed that gold instead of the black for that one chick. Do you know what her parents looked like? Might give us a clue to what is hiding under the...

A pillow to accompany might be nice too..... And if you're still cold there, Hot Hands (or the assorted variations) might also be helpful, especially if say your hands or feet are cold even with the blanket. They also make battery powered heated socks. Might have stocking caps or beanies too...

Whiskey has the speckled chest too. I liked Kren's color better, but Whiskey's personality and interactions with the ladies was so much better than Kren's! And he's proven it multiple times since (Twirp and encouraging her to eat, then refusing to leave her in the house without him). One of...

Those are both straight combs. Roos combs tend to stand up and hens flop in some capacity. The degree of flop depends on overall comb size. Several of my smallish straight comb ladies don't have any (or just minor) flopPear (cleaning bugs off the car) has a straight, not floppy comb. Cardhu...

Pear would be delighted. She was a young chick through August, when we were catching grasshoppers for the chicks. The scrum in the garage was sooooo entertaining! She's always the first to find them each season.

Cheetah was 2, Hector was 1 (10 weeks older than the others) and Whiskey was the same age. Both Whiskey and Hector called the ladies away from the fight at different times due to the 2 Amigos going at it oblivious to stuff around them. I'm not sure where Cheetah was....supervising a ranging...

I would say that challenges affect the order, but not all challenges involve fights. Some most are resolved with chest bump/hard stare, possibly a peck/feather pull to correct behavior and done. This was more than that, but I didn't see the beginning so am having to extrapolate the why. What...
