She never had crop issues before this. I'm definitely worried as to why it's not resolved by now too as I hoped she could go back outside and free range again this weekend.
She had surgery a week ago and has been on soft foods. Vet removed a mass of mostly straw. Obviously, I got rid of the straw.
She's been in the house this whole time and staples come out at the end of this week. However, her crop is not emptying overnight. It goes down overnight, but it's not...
In case anyone is reading this thread later on...I had two hens who ended up needing crop surgery. They were eating hemp bedding!
The one vet, an exotic specialist, charges $3000.00. Another exotic vet in town charges $450. That vet is nearly never available and hardly works so it's tough...
Has the roof on the run held up well? An curious if it'll crack easily. Also, does it hold weight well? Wondering about large snow/ice amounts on top. It looks beautiful.
Thanks all. If it was a lash egg, should I expect another other soon ? And if it's a weird egg but not lash, I assume it's just a one time thing?
So far no more strange things have come out and no other symptoms still
What about the red stringy bit at the bottom? And if the brownish bottom part is salpingitis, does that not need antibiotics to clear up? Or would it clear and its own? And she'll be fine?
