I've just been using the empty feed sacks that I cut to size. Once the poop accumulates, I pull the pieces off the poop shelf and onto my wheelbarrow, then replace with new feed sacks.
Thank you for the recommendation...I currently have a flock consisting of a few RIR, Barred Rocks, ISA Browns, Speckled Sussexes, Sapphire Gems, Jersey Giant, Australorp, Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, and a few other breeds. The next one I'd like to add are a few Copper Marans.
OMG...I used to do wedding photography, so give me time to find my gear, wipe the cobwebs off, recharge the batteries and then re-read the user manuals....
So elated to find my first duck egg of 2026 this morning! Will make sure to savor it; now to determine whether to hard-boil it, scramble it, or just fry it.
Welcome to the BYC! I, like you, am very bad at math (chickens). I only wanted 4 or 5 chickens, but for some reason, wound up with 50 chickens, 7 ducks, 3 dogs, 2 turtles, and still looking for my goats and donkeys.
