    feather loss from mites?

    I recently discovered mites on one of our 4 hens , it is our RR and imediatly dusted with DE and have several more times since. my question is would that be why it has feather loss? and if so will new feathers grow in? perhaps after first moulting?

    Be patient

    until just about 2wks ago, I was one of those who couldn't wait for an egg, I know the feeling, but it WILL happen! and its wonderful! hang in there. mine are now 27 wks. all laying in the last 2 wks.

    first dozen!

    so it FINALLY happened, my barred rock, RR and white leghorn are laying! so excited, just have one more we are waiting on our aracauna. very well worth the wait.be patient everyone, it WILL happen. they are 27 wks.

    Dont get discouraged if your waiting on that 1st egg!

    I thought it would never happen! First egg today!!!!!!!!!!! our 4 girls are 6mths today, 2 have been sqautting and singing for about 1wk. it was either the Barred Rock, or the RR because its a brown one. So, don't give up!
