    shakey legs on meat bird

I've got some meat birds that are about a week and a half old. All are doing great, but one seems to be very shakey on his legs. He walks around just fine, but has his little wings down and out like he's trying to balance. He can stand up straight, but seems to tremble all the time. I know...

    Bumblefoot Questions

After reading all of the posts here on Bumblefoot, I was pretty confident in recognizing the signs and knowing what to do....but... Doing a foot check on my birds today--3 of them had the puffy foot with black scabs! However, none were limping, it didn't seem to hurt them...nothing. I removed...

    chicks arrived :(

My nieces slept over, we had a big campout in the livingroom. We were all up early to wait for the call from the post office. As soon as the phone rang, all four kids ran out to the van. Only 4 out of the 36 chicks survived the trip. I'm just heartbroken. There were 5 others that were still...

I got my kitchen ready, my kill station ready in the garage, picked out my 3 biggest roosters and set to work......I've only culled a small meatie a few weeks ago, and that worked well, so I thought today would go smoothly too...

    I did it!

My friends will think I'm a sicky for being proud of myself, so I'll post here for some support. I processed my first meat bird this morning. She was small, but couldn't walk. I did it all by myself, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. I'm very proud of myself. I've never hunted...

    lame legs???

My first time raising meaties and I thought I was doing okay...I'm stumped with this one though... One of my meaties (5 weeks old) can't seem to walk or stand. She'll stand a little, but then lays back down. I brought her inside because she got rained on and muddy, and I thought she was just...
