I was being slow about digging a post and came across an easy collection method. I had dug a 3-4' hole and left it overnight. Woke up and had 10-15 crickets trapped at the bottom. Place a bucket on a string at the bottom of the hole and you'd have an easy treat for your flock.
I've started my coop and have placed an order for 10 chicks expected to arrive at the end of April. I decided to start with 8 hens and 2 roosters. Selected Black Australorps for being a hearty breed.
