So I have to get a straight run khaki Campbell duck. Can I keep with the chickens? I was going to give it a small kiddie pool, but if that's bad I don't have to. What if it's a male? Thanks!
So ever since we got chickens, a family friend's kids have been BEGGING for them. They can't get chickens, so they offered to pay for the costs of one chicken, if we will house it and keep it alive. They get to come visit it, have some eggs, and have pictures and an adoption certificate for it...
I am interested in showing one of my chickens, and was wondering a few things about showing. Can chickens get diseases from poultry showing? And what is the standard for barred rocks? Thanks!
I have a bantam chick who is about 4 weeks old and is flying out of the brooder! The two BR pullets are about 2 and a half or three weeks old, and are trying to fly out, too! Can they move to the coop?
Shevis slower moving than the others, and doesn't try to fly like them. She is shorter and fatter than them, too. Is she just more docile? She pecks and scratches at the ground...
They all also make a clicking noise. Are they trying to cluck or what?
Earlier today I read a thread about someone who found a chicken that screams. I posted that it could be a guinea, so if any experienced guinea fowl keepers have any suggestions, please check out her thread! I'm pretty sure it was in chicken behaiviors and egglaying. Thanks!
The title kind of explains itself, but I'll name the song and we get as far as we can in the song before 24 hours is up... if we finish the song before the times up... yay! If we don't... we have to start over with a new song! Stop whenever if you wanner chat
GO: take me out to the ball game!
These are pics of a nearly 3 week old bantam. I don't know the breed or gender, but breed is more important...
It won't let me post pics... but it is blue/gray with highish tail feathers and loves to FLY!!! I was thinking maybe some easter egger bantam, but I am really new to chickens, so...
I just got 3 chicks 2 weeks ago, and am really enjoying them so far. There's one that is two and a half weeks old, but looks really sick. :hit I started a new thread in the raising baby chicks section, so if you have any support or ideas, please reply to it!
My chick is shaky, and is walking very slowly. At first I thought she had a broken leg, because she wouldn't walk, but now she just seems kind of sick. Any ideas?:(
