My silky hen has streaks of red above her eyes and on the skin along her mouth and beak. I recently lost a silky rooster, who also had those visible signs. He was much sicker than she is right now. I really need to find out as much as I can to try and treat her myself.
It's gotten cold here in NY. All but one hen seem fine. She looks cold; standing with feathers close and not eating. I've given her some fluids with a surringe. Any ideas for this time of year illnesses?
I've used drops of ivermectin on my turkeys legs to kill scaley mites. Although, I've tried covering his head to seal his legs and feet, I could get the job done like that. He is huge!
