Hi all!
I have a female BR who I've had for 3 years, and she is healthy and is still a wonderful companion :) She had been kept with a tom, but he recently passed due to a disease he had come down with. Despite treatment he didn't make it, and so she is being kept alone, at night/roaming...
Hi all,
I have a large enclosure built for my two BRs. It has a spot in the back that is always shaded and also is kept dry.
However, once the rainy months arrive (just started getting real rainy and constantly wet these past weeks), it's almost always moist, or even had standing puddles...
The original one slowed up, but some were asking for a new one and others mentioned they'd join a new one, so here it is!

Don't have a photo of her, but I've seen this case.
I have two Bourbon red turkeys and am hopefully getting some peachicks soon (a lady had too many and said she will give me some chicks so she isn't overrun).
I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this? Also wondering if there are...
Hello,
So I will be new to peas in, hopefully, a few weeks! Met the owner of a feed store who also does a lot of animal rescue work who has a ton of baby peas and said she would give me some! I have 2 turkeys and have been considering a few peas for a year and I would like to hump on this...
I'm an hour north of Tampa. Been devati g what to do about my birds' situation so I think I should ask.
I have 2 bourbon red turkeys with a male silver pheasant. They get along well. I had a few female pheasants but I lost them, sadly. I've kept the male as I didn't know what I should do with...
Hello,
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have had my hen and tom for a year (since they were just a week old) and neither of them have ever been sick. Lately, when I go out to feed, instead of pacing and calling as she usually does, my hen is laying down, sometimes with her wings dropped...
For whatever reason, after the reading I did previously, I didn't even think of this aspect. I live in FL and it's finally starting to cool off here (just barely though).
I have two Bourbon Reds, a tom and a hen. They are about 8 months old. No eggs yet, but seeing the posts about nesting...
Hello :) I am a 3rd year college student, studying in Cello Performance and Anthropology. I take commissions in order to help pay for the gas (I am a commuter and my college is an hour away) and food. I currently do commissions for:
Hand-painted, personal mugs and drinking glasses (anything...
She broke the tip of it and it's still actually attached... just crooked and obviously sore as she usually pecks *very* hard at things but now she is much gentler.
She's about 3 months now, and she's a Bourbon Red. She does also have one sister but I don't think the sister will be a problem...

I finally have baby pheasants! I've been working with never-handled adults the pas 2 years but lost all of my birds except one :( She's my precious, tiny girl of the bunch and she now has a male year old pheasant to keep her company.
I do intend to add the youngsters in with her and the male...
I just made a similar post in the turkey section so I can find out what else to give to my poults, but I also would like to know what more I can give to my silvers!
I have one 2 yr old female and a year old male. I also have 4 babies :)
I add 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar "with the mother"...
Hello,
Just wondering what kinds of "extras," or even add-ins for regular meals others give to their turkeys.
I give peanuts every few days (or, sometimes, a few days in a row). They are only a month old so they are still on high protein feed (that I am running low on), so I give oatmeal...
Pour on is the correct type for oral delivery? I am at the store right now and did some quick additional reading so I would like to make sure I get the correct thing. Some of my birds were given to me older and unhandled so they are difficult to catch without ample stress.
EDIT: Also, I have heard that this is not harmful to give to the birds even if they are not infected, but as a precaution.
After a horrible epidemic a few months ago, I have been looking to get the goat version of Ivermectin to put into my birds' water. So far I haven't been able to find it...
I have a 2 year old female silver pheasant named Astrid. Lately we have been having a huge problems with raccoons so she and her penmates (one younger male silver, one female bobwhite quail and 2 Bourbon red turkey poults) are residing in the garage while I am fixing up the aviary with my mom...
Just wondering as I have one female Bobwhite who I got last year. She's 3 years old and has outlived many diseases and raccoon attacks prior to her current living conditions. She's the only one left out of 13 quail I was given last year. I lost the others to parasites and cold-like...
Hey,
This past year we lost numerous chickens while they were free ranging during the day. Something, I presume raccoons, broke into the aviary I built with my mom and killed my silver pheasants and bobwhite quails. None of them returned so I assume they were killed within the while they may...
