I've got 6 year old egg layers. My meat birds are about 4 weeks old and still in the brooder. I'm planning on putting my meat birds in with my egg layers at the end of next week. Will that be ok? I don't know how I'll be able to separate them. I only have one coop and run.
I'm putting ACV in my chicks water. They are about 3 weeks old now. Should I keep giving it to them? For how long?
Also. I'm using sand in the run and the coop. Do I need to give them grit also or can they use the sand?
I'm raising 12 meat birds and 12 layers. Got them about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Have them all together in the brooder. I lost 2 chicks right off. Then about 3 days later I lost a 3rd. Now today I lost the 4th one :( ! All of them are meat birds. The last 2 seemed like they were ok. Then all of a sudden...
I'm building my coop right now and I'm to the point of building the nesting boxes. They will be projecting out the back wall of the coop. I'll be putting them in between the studs that are 16 o.c. How high and deep should they be?
