I have been through 2 hatches with my guinea pair, and I've decided this time to practice a little guinea birth control. I have left Maude 7 of the eggs she's laid (marked them), and every day when she's not looking I take the new one. We're on Day 19 now, although she only has 7 eggs in her...
Abby the Tabby has always asisted in my incubation-- all I have to say is, "Abby, let's go check the eggs!" and she runs into the spare bedroom to peer into the incubator. 3 or 4 hatches now, she's a pro. Well, this time she stretched out on top as chick #7 was hatching, and pushed the heat...

I drowned the first batch in the incubator (don't hate me!) but I learned so much from this site, so I tried again....and did it! I only put in a few eggs this time (guilty conscience about murdering those others), and I have 3 gorgeous red chicks!!!!!!!
I threw out the silly instruction...
But this time I will watch the humidity better! I'm new to this site, and I wish I had read about taking out the red plugs and going with low humidity about a month ago! Sigh.... I have 1 rooster and 4 hens that are full size, 10 chicks that are about 3 months old (frisky and adorable!), and...
