    bantam hens won't go broody... how long are fertilized eggs ok for?

    If fertilized eggs are only viable for a week or so, how come a hen can have 15 chicks in 1 clutch once she gets broody?     Dutch Bantams.. they are 3 weeks old now. Sugar... Spice... Spices little comb has turned pink within 1 day (but hens and roo's have pink/red combs when fully grown). Do feathers of dutch bantams give you a clue?
