Hi folks,
My flock, consists of Barred Plymouth, Buff Orp, Rhode Island, Black Jersey Giant have some how slowed down in their growth. They are around 10 week old.
Is this normal that their growth rate will slow down around this time of their lives?
My flock is free range during the day.
So, I have a feeding and drinking station outside the coop.
Well, that feeding station is now attracting birds and the flock will chase them away but the birds return once the flock is "grazing" elsewhere.
How do you tackle this problem?
Hi there,
I have 6 chicks (4 are 6+ week old and 2 are 4+week old). We free-range them in the day and herd them into the coop+run in the evening. They are used to getting into the coop every night now.
However, every morning, perhaps 2-3 hours after the sun has risen, 4 of the physically...
The farm said this is Rhode Island but the light patches on the wings made me doubt.
I guess the chick is transitioning to full adult feathers ...
What do you think?
I have two 6-week old Barred Rocks from the same batch.
One is completely black and the other has the usual spots all over.
Is the completely black one normal? Will the spots start to appear later?
Hi folks,
Just a short note to say Hi to you all and hope to learn from you.
Our little flock consists of:
Two Barred Rock
Two Rhode Island (red)
Two Buff Orpington
Our RIR behave like missiles in terms of speed. They are, at least, 2X or 3X faster than the rest in terms of stealing...
