    Feeding barley silage

    Our family has got out of cattle recently, and we have tons (literally) of barley silage left in our yard. What are your thoughts on feeding barley silage to chicks, hens, and/or broilers? Could it be used as a primary feed? Or even as a supplement?

    White mucous discharge from vent.

    I picked up a large group of broiler chicks on Tuesday, (born Monday), and one is incredibly limp and lethargic this afternon. It has a white moucousy discharge from its vent....not poopy like pasty butt. I have it quarantined, but I'm wondering what it might be? I think it might be too late...
