    First night without heat lamp

    My babies are 5 weeks old. It's only going to get down to 63 tonight. I don't think I will leave the heat lamp on for them tonight. Should I just put a regular light bulb in the coop for them and leave it on all night so they won't be in the dark, or just let them be in the dark?

    Out of my nine mixed flock these two are the sweetest and will gladly get on my hand to get out of the brooder.... Ameraucana and Cuckoo Marans... All the others seem so skittish.

    Spa day

    Oh my gosh who new a box of dirt in my brooder of 1 week olds pullets would cause so much intertainment. It's spa day :D .... I have one that will usually check things out first and she was really enjoying the whole box to her self... And then the others noticed... Well the box won't hold them...

    Hello everyone. I just bought my first chicks today :D...I'm so thrilled. I got 2 ameraucana, 2 cuckoo Marian's, 2 barnevelder, 1 Coulmbian Wyandotte , 1 golden laced Wyandotte , 1 speckled Sussex ..... My husband said they are MY chickens to take care of ... Lol but I caught him checking on...
