Several weeks ago, I had a Silkie that hatched in April go broody and was siting on one of her eggs. Two weeks prior to that I re-homed a Polish and two Silkie roosters. So we did one of those "aww what the hell" things. I pulled 6 of my oldest eggs that had been in the refrigerator for a week...
Just noticed one of my pullet/hens has a white buildup around vent area. I need help identifying the problem for proper treatment.
She pooped a clear slimy fluid (egg wite?) just after i caught her. I rinsed her vent and cleated most of the white crud off.
I suspect Vent Gleet(spelling?) but...
Are both of these males?
This chick feathered out faster, and has significantly larger feathers on it's feet.
This one was slower to feather out and the foot feathers are noticeably smaller, if that has anything to do with gender.
This chick also seems to be a bit more flighty.

The coop is under construction, and have never had birds in the coop, but something is curious. A few days later I found more prints in the same spot. The print is approximately 1 3/4" wide.
