    crape myrtle wood safe

    All, I have done some googling and am trying to confirm that it is safe to use wood from crape myrtles in the coop. I didn't see it on any of the lists of danger plants but figured it would be a good idea to check here. Thanks

    perch height

    All, What height should the perch be above the floor or in my case below the dropping board. I am going to use a 2x4 as the perch since that seems to be the way to go. I have a mock image below in this the perch is 1' off the dropping board which leaves ~1' to the roof above the perch...

    coop size question

    I built my coop portion so that if I needed to i could divide it down the center. The rough dimensions are 4x8x3. I am going to have 4 hens. I was thinking that the full size might be too much space so that they wouldn't be able to keep warm in the winter. Does anyone have thoughts/suggestions...
