    silkies first eggs?

    Can you incubate the first few eggs you get when silkies start laying? I have one female and I think she started cause I find an egg almost everyday now that is darker brown and about half the size of all the rest of the eggs. I have a couple different types of hens..just only a silkie rooster.

    we have 7laying hens and one rooster. How do I know when I get the eggs if they are fertile and can be incubated or not? these are our first chickens and they just started laying in their new home.

    would a deep litter method be easier for me?

    I am starting my coop in an existing shed that has a dirt floor already so would it be easier to just try to start a deep layer or just use a little straw?
